Look closely the next time you pass a popcorn cart in the park. Every one of the myriad little marionette-style figures churning those buttery kernels across the park is unique; allegedly, each represents a notable character, park attraction, or theme.
(#2) One Of The Skulls In The Pirates Of The Caribbean May Be Real
According to the park's lore, when the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction first opened, skulls within the set design were real human remains. Imagineers, a former Disney producer claims, wanted everything to be as realistic as possible, so they procured skulls from the UCLA Medical Center.
Since then, most of the skeletal remains have been replaced with artificial bones, but legend has it that two skulls and a torso on display are the real deal. And a park cast member confirms at least one of those skulls remains in the ride. Take a look at the one resting above the bed right at the start to judge for yourself.
(#3) Snow White's Voice Is Forever Trapped In The Fantasyland Wishing Well
Behind the castle in Fantasyland, there's a wishing well located in what is known as Snow White Grotto. Get close enough to that well, and you’ll likely hear the famous princess singing "I'm Wishing" from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
What's more, it's the voice of the original actor, Adriana Castelotti, who re-recorded the song in 1983 for the attraction.
(#4) The New Orleans Square Train Station Clacks A Message In Morse Code
The second stop along the park-wide Disneyland Railroad is the New Orleans Square train station, where the locomotive passes a replica of an old telegraph office. Only the most keen-eared Easter egg hunters will recognize and decode the 60-second, Morse-coded message clacking over the loudspeaker: "To all who come to Disneyland, welcome. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future.”
(#5) The Evil Queen Is Watching Over Fantasyland
Right above Snow White’s Scary Adventures - which still exists in Anaheim's Disneyland despite its permanent closure at Orlando's Disney World - is a window with curtains. Every few minutes, those curtains open and the Evil Queen pops out, scrutinizes the park for a few moments, and then vanishes again.
(#6) You Can Translate The Hieroglyphics While Waiting In The Indiana Jones Adventure Line
The line to hop on the Indiana Jones Adventure is always a long one, but lucky for you, there’s an excellent way to kill time while you wait. Hieroglyphics dot the walls throughout the labyrinthine line, and they can be deciphered via a decoder card. AT&T originally sponsored the Easter egg and dispersed decoder cards during the 1990s, allowing studious adventurers to obtain clues about the ride ahead, among other things.

(#7) The Haunted Mansion Has A Pet Cemetery
As you’re waiting in line for the Haunted Mansion, take a peek at the front lawn: among the graves named after former animators and Disney characters, part of the graveyard has a special section. There, you’ll spot tombstones for cats, dogs, and a few furry Disney friends, including Sparky, the resurrected canine in Tim Burton's Frankenweenie.

Back in the early days of Disneyland, Walt Disney used the space above the firehouse as his office from which he could watch people stream into the park. Now, a light in the window burns on in his memory - a fun Easter egg to hunt down any time of day.

As you wander the enchanted forest Tinker Bell inhabits, you might miss her tiny fairy cottage if you're not looking closely enough. But peer closer, and you're sure to see the quaint, creative little cottage.
Watch for a swirl of pixie dust - you might catch a glimpse of the elusive fairy herself.
(#10) Julie Andrews Has A Special Horse On King Arthur’s Carousel
One horse stands out from the rest on King Arthur's Carousel, as it's entirely covered in bells. That horse’s name is Jingles, and it's there to celebrate Julie Andrews, Broadway's Queen Guenevere from the early '60s musical Camelot. Of course, Andrews is better known for her role as the magical title character in Disney's 1964 film Mary Poppins.
In 2008, Disneyland honored Andrews with the steed as thanks for the timeless enchantment she has brought to the park and Disney brand.
(#11) The Haunted Mansion’s Madame Leota May Sound Familiar
When riding through Haunted Mansion, do you feel like that chilling voice coming from the floating head in a globe sounds familiar? Madame Leota is voiced by Eleanor Audley, the queen of classic Disney villains.
Audley also voiced Lady Tremaine in Cinderella and Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty.
(#12) Each Room In It's A Small World Has A Moon And Sun
As any fan of the eponymous ride knows, the classic Disney song "It's A Small World" includes the lyric, "There is just one moon and one golden sun." Because of this, every room the attraction features also contains a moon and sun somewhere in the room. While cruising through, see if you can spot them.
While on the lookout, you might also find Disney characters like the White Rabbit, Aladdin, and Simba hanging out with the other puppets in their respective nations. And of course, more than a few hidden Mickeys populate the small world.
(#13) Tilly The Mannequin Shares Walt Disney’s Hometown
Outside of Main Street Cinema, you’ll spot Tilly, a mannequin posed as a ticket booth employee. She wears a cast member badge declaring her hometown is Marceline, Missouri - which is where Walt Disney spent much of his youth.
Disney even modeled Main Street, USA, after the small town.
(#14) The Number 77 Commemorates The Year Space Mountain Launched
Space Mountain was initially just a Florida park attraction, but its popularity led to one opening in California in 1977. Florida still refers to the original as "Starport Seven-Five," as the ride was completed in 1975. Disneyland's West Coast version is known as "Space Station 77," though, taking its numeral from its 1977 birth year.
You can find a "Space Station 77" symbol in the area around the Space Mountain ride, memorializing the attraction's inception.
(#15) Club 33 Is The Most Exclusive Club Around - But You Can Spy Its Front Door
Club 33 is the ultimate Disney "not-so-secret" yet exclusive experience. At 33 Orleans Street in New Orleans Square, right next to the Blue Bayou, this hidden speakeasy is not for the average visitor; only members can attend. Designed as a lounge for Walt Disney to entertain special guests, the club is now in extremely high demand, costs thousands of dollars to join, and has a very long waiting list.
Luckily, there's an unofficial account on Instagram dedicated to giving the rest of us a glimpse inside the nondescript door that appears to be a facade - unless you know where to look.
(#16) An Elias & Co. Mannequin Wears A Famous Walt Disney Outfit
In Elias & Co., a shop in California Adventure, one of the most prominent display mannequins is dressed as the park's mastermind. He is wearing a replica of the suit Walt Disney wore to the premiere of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
