  • Big Lurch Cannibalized A Corpse on Random Crazy Rap Rumors You Won't Believe Are Actually 100% True

(#2) Big Lurch Cannibalized A Corpse

In April 2002, rapper Big Lurch (born Antron Singleton) was found in the street naked and covered in blood, high on PCP. Back at his house, the body of his friend, Tynisha Ysais, was discovered, torn open and partially devoured.

When Singleton was examined at the hospital, doctors found pieces of human flesh in his stomach. Despite the evidence linking him to the crime, Singleton hatched a conspiracy theory and many fans believed in his innocence. The courts, however, did not, and he is currently serving life in prison.

  • Eminem Took On 'The Source' And Won on Random Crazy Rap Rumors You Won't Believe Are Actually 100% True

(#1) Eminem Took On 'The Source' And Won

Not everyone was thrilled with Eminem's meteoric rise to rap fame. One of his biggest detractors was Raymond "Benzino" Scott, a rapper and head of the once-monolithic rap magazine The Source.

Benzino regularly roasted Eminem in the pages of the magazine, and Em took notice. In turn, Eminem wrote scathing, thinly-veiled lyrics about Benzino and The Source. There were threats of a lawsuit which eventually died down, and Benzino pulled up stakes and sold his share of the magazine.

When Em received an award from The Source in 2002, he broke it onstage in front of 50,000 people. Ouch.

  • Dr. Dre Was Allegedly Abusive on Random Crazy Rap Rumors You Won't Believe Are Actually 100% True

(#8) Dr. Dre Was Allegedly Abusive

Dr. Dre is largely known today as the creator of headphones the world can't seem to get enough of. Of course, most of us also know that Dre has had an extensive rap career.

In an infamous incident occurring in January 1991, the rapper allegedly beat talk show host Dee Barnes while the two were attending a party at a nightclub. Dre reportedly slammed her face and body against a wall, punched her in the head, and attempted to throw her down a staircase.

Regarding the event, Dre admits his actions were abusive. "I was out of my f*cking mind," he said.

  • Kanye Recorded His First Single While His Jaw Was Wired Shut on Random Crazy Rap Rumors You Won't Believe Are Actually 100% True

(#7) Kanye Recorded His First Single While His Jaw Was Wired Shut

In October of 2002, Kanye West's rental car was involved in a serious accident that landed West in the hospital with a broken jaw.

While this sort of trauma would cause many people to quiet down for a few months, the incident actually served as West's inspiration to start recording vocals over the tracks he produced. Within a few weeks, the rapper was out of the ER and back in the studio, where he recorded his first single "Through The Wire" while his jaw was still wired shut (hence the title).

If you listen closely to the track, you might notice that Kanye's voice sounds especially awkward at certain points. The rapper actually had a pretty good reason for sounding so rough: he could barely speak!

  • 50 Cent Was Shot Nine Times on Random Crazy Rap Rumors You Won't Believe Are Actually 100% True

(#5) 50 Cent Was Shot Nine Times

Nine. No, that's not a typo, 50 Cent survived a mind-boggling nine gunshots. So, what happened exactly? While sitting in a car back in 2000, 50 was presumably minding his own business when Darryl “Hommo” Baum allegedly drove up and shot him in the arm, chest, hand, hip, legs, and left cheek.

The feud was reportedly about a 50 Cent song that talked about drug dealers in the neighborhood where 50 grew up. He now has a piece of bullet permanently lodged in his mouth.

  • Kendrick Lamar Sabotaged Captain Murphy's Sophomore Album (Sort Of) on Random Crazy Rap Rumors You Won't Believe Are Actually 100% True

(#10) Kendrick Lamar Sabotaged Captain Murphy's Sophomore Album (Sort Of)

Kendrick Lamar has a reputation for being utterly devoted to his craft. The rapper churns out so much quality music that he's actually able to keep a stockpile of unreleased songs on-hand for when he performs live on television (he thinks it's the only way to keep TV performances interesting in an age of digital streaming).

To cultivate such a quality storehouse, the artist needs to be constantly creating new material. For this reason, whenever Kendrick hears a beat he likes, he doesn't hesitate to go in on it.

While this is great for fans, Lamar's practice inadvertently caused Flying Lotus to indefinitely delay the release of his side-project Captain Murphy's sophomore album.

According to Fly Lo, here's how it went down:

I went on tour and he recorded to a bunch of my songs. I don't know if he's gonna use them or not, but he recorded a bunch of stuff, which is why there's no Captain Murphy album out yet. He took all my beats.

When an artist as talented as Kendrick throws down over one of your beats, you can't really use it for anything else.
