The Riddle:
The power was out all over town when Jim was in the hospital. After the power came back on, a nurse entered the room and found Jim had been stabbed. The police questioned the nurse, a cleaning woman, Jim's doctor, and Jim's wife. The nurse said she was in the doctor's lounge until the power came back. The cleaning woman said she was having tea in the staff room. The doctor said he was speaking to a patient. And Jim's wife said she was buying food at the hospital's vending machine. Who did it?
The Solution:
Jim's wife, because she couldn't buy food at a vending machine if the power was out.

The Riddle:
It was a hot summer afternoon when the owner of the house was found dead by the pool. A detective came to interview his wife and maid. The maid said she found him all wet, and saw him swimming with his wife in the morning. His wife said that after swimming in the morning she went shopping downtown. Who is lying?
The Solution:
The maid is lying about him being wet, because he would have dried up in the summer sun.
