Abandoned since Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005, Six Flags New Orleans (formerly Jazzland) still draws curious revelers hoping to break in and explore the eerie grounds. People claim to hear phantom laughter and the music from rides that haven't operated in over a decade.

  • RMS Queen Mary on Random Allegedly Haunted Amusement Parks And Attractions

    (#2) RMS Queen Mary

    • Ship

Permanently docked in Long Beach, CA, the Queen Mary is a floating hotel where ghost sightings are practically a daily occurrence. Before she retired, the Queen Mary made 1,001 trips across the Atlantic, logging nearly 50 losses along the way.

Some claim that more than 150 spirits may still haunt the luxury rooms and corridors of the immense ship. Among these alleged ghouls: a crew member who was felled by a watertight door, a woman who dances alone dressed in white, and people sporting clothing from the 1930s.

The ship is known as one of America's most haunted places. Guests have felt significant drops in temperature; seen flickering lights; and heard slamming doors, crying children, knocks on doors, and, of course, screams.

  • Disneyland on Random Allegedly Haunted Amusement Parks And Attractions

    (#3) Disneyland

    • Amusement Park

Several ghosts are said to haunt Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. Most of them are supposed to be the spirits of those who perished in accidents at the park over the years. People report sightings of a man who appears near the Monorail track at night before disappearing in the face of an oncoming tram. That spirit may be Thomas Guy Cleveland, a young man who attempted to sneak into the park at night by climbing over the fence in 1966. When he reached the Monorail track, he was hit by an oncoming train.

Debbie Stone is also said to haunt the park - she was a teenage hostess working at the America Sings attraction when she was felled by one of the rotating theater walls. Cast members report hearing Stone whisper "be careful" if they're in danger.

And, of course, many cast members and attendees say they sometimes see or hear Walt Disney wandering around his old studio apartment above the Main Street firehouse. Since Disney's passing in 1966, cast members have kept the light in the apartment window eternally on for him.

Disney fans also hypothesize the Pirates of the Caribbean ride is haunted since real human bones from the UCLA Medical Center were originally used in the ride.

  • The Enchanted Forest Attraction In Oregon May Sit On Cursed Land on Random Allegedly Haunted Amusement Parks And Attractions

(#4) The Enchanted Forest Attraction In Oregon May Sit On Cursed Land

Nestled in the woods of Turner, OR, the Enchanted Forest amusement park attracts visitors from all over the state thanks to its charming attractions - and its more spectral amusements. Zak Bagans and Aaron Goodwin, investigators from the popular Travel Channel ghost-hunting show Ghost Adventures, heard stories from Enchanted Forest employees about disembodied footsteps, moving orbs, and cold spots throughout the haunted house attraction.

While there haven't been any recorded accidents on the amusement park grounds, Enchanted Forest does sit close to land on which Native American tribes and Oregon settlers fought in 1846. It's possible, according to the Ghost Adventures team, some spiritual residue clings to the land where the park sits.

Roger Tofte, who opened Enchanted Forest in 1971 as a passion project, rejects the idea that his park is haunted. He told Ghost Adventures, "The only strange experiences I’ve had in the park are the strange ideas that come into my head on what to create next!"

  • Six Flags Great Adventure on Random Allegedly Haunted Amusement Parks And Attractions

    (#5) Six Flags Great Adventure

    • Amusement Park

Visitors to Six Flags Great Adventure amusement park in Jackson, NJ, have reported seeing teenagers standing and sitting throughout the park - only to realize these guests aren't real. Some ghosts appear to be wearing clothing from the 1980s or '90s.

This claim is particularly eerie because, in 1984, eight teenagers became trapped and ultimately perished in the park's Haunted Castle attraction. A volunteer firefighter recalled being unable to tell human bones from the skeleton props. Following the tragedy, state legislation began holding amusement parks to higher safety standards: fire safety requirements were upped and better emergency exit protocols were implemented for rides meant to disorient visitors.

  • Kings Island on Random Allegedly Haunted Amusement Parks And Attractions

    (#6) Kings Island

    • Amusement Park

According to visitors, Kings Island amusement park has an alarming amount of ghosts traversing its Ohio premises. Guests report seeing a young girl in a blue dress, believed to have passed in the 1800s and to have been interred inside the island's cemetery. Known as either "Missouri Jane" or "Tram Girl," people see her at the International Restaurant and White Water Canyon ride.

Visitors also claim to see a male child in a white suit near the race tracks when the sun goes down. Named "Racer Boy," this ghost is allegedly the spirit of a child found in a dip on the Shooting Star track at Coney Island. This supposedly occurred before several of the ride's cars were relocated to King's Island.

Finally, John Harter, known as "Tower Johnny," also haunts the park. He is said to be the spirit of a young man who fell in 1983 while climbing the Eiffel Tower at the park's entrance.

Beyond these three spirits, many believe ghosts haunt the nearby ammo factory. The factory had several explosions throughout the last century, which when combined, ended the lives of at least 30 people and injured many more. Residents still say they hear footsteps following them and see swinging elevator cables while exploring the abandoned building.

  • Universal Studios Hollywood on Random Allegedly Haunted Amusement Parks And Attractions

    (#7) Universal Studios Hollywood

    • Amusement Park

In 1915, Carl Laemmle opened Universal City ranch to the public, providing visitors with the first inside look at the film industry. During the opening weekend festivities, however, the magic of cinema became a bit too real. During an aviation stunt meant to impress the thousands of guests, pilot Frank Stites plummeted to his demise for reasons still unknown.

Horrified, Universal City canceled the rest of the weekend's events, but modern visitors and staff continue to see a man walking around the backlot dressed as a pilot. John Murdy, the creative director of Halloween Horror Nights, has even heard someone giggling on the backlot. He created a dummy of the pilot for the attraction in an attempt to pay homage to the fallen Frank Stites. Murdy said he hasn't heard any disembodied laughing since, only the very alive screams of delighted visitors.

  • Cedar Point on Random Allegedly Haunted Amusement Parks And Attractions

    (#9) Cedar Point

In 1917, Daniel C. Muller carved what became known as Muller's Military Horse. According to legend, his wife became obsessed with the horse. After she passed, visitors reported seeing her ghost riding the so-called Haunted Steed on the Cedar Point Carousel. The legend also states that Mrs. Muller's spirit prevents people from taking photos of her favorite horse to keep anyone else from falling in love with it.

While the original carousel horse is no longer riding, a replica of Muller's Military Horse can be found at the Merry-Go-Round Museum. Visitors still say they hear Mrs. Muller taking nightly strolls around the museum to admire the steed.

Modern visitors and employees report familiarity with several ghosts who hang around the park, including Abby, the Lady in White, whose presence can be felt and heard in the hotel; Scott, who is seen in Playland Attic and other areas; and Jack, who lingers in the bar and occasionally opens doors.

All three spirits are said to have perished on the premises, with Scott being found in the Treasureland attraction. People also report hearing coins dropping while on the Park After Dark ghost tours. According to the Syfy show Ghost Hunters, the spirits are benevolent, only haunting the grounds because of a love for the park itself.

Paranormal researcher Chad Miller said employees told him Annie's body had been found in the 1920s in a creek bed.

Researchers report seeing a teddy bear move in Annie's room, as well as hearing a voice say, "Let me play with your hair."

  • A Wealthy Entrepreneur Haunts 'The Coney Island Of The West' - And He May Not Be Alone on Random Allegedly Haunted Amusement Parks And Attractions

(#12) A Wealthy Entrepreneur Haunts 'The Coney Island Of The West' - And He May Not Be Alone

The Coney Island of the West, which sits on the Ohio River in Cincinnati, plays host to its fair share of ghouls. Named after Coney Island in New York, the Ohio amusement park includes a massive pool, an outdoor dance hall, and a play area for small children. Walt Disney even visited in the 1950s while he was planning Disneyland.

One of the Ohio park's owners, George Schott, passed in 1935 at an event in Moonlite Gardens. He is said to appear today wearing period clothing and watching over the park. Several guests have lost their lives in ride-related injuries, including from riding the Scrambler, exiting the moving merry-go-round, and diving into the pool.

The area sits on the land associated with the Hopewell culture, and some guests and workers claim they've heard Native American chanting, music from the empty merry-go-round, and splashing from the pool area, even during the off-season.
