  Ayame Sohma is one of the most unflappable characters in the world of Fruits Basket - to him, everything is a joke and there's little reason to get upset about anything. He does have one minor weakness though: cold weather. While all of the Sohmas are somewhat delicate, Ayame is especially so.

  Why? Because he's the snake of the Zodiac. Snakes are cold blooded creatures, which means that their take on the body temperature of their surroundings. While Ayame is probably warm blooded in his human form (he'd have an acute case of not being alive anymore otherwise) he's still easily impacted by cold weather.

  The effects range from simply feeling unwell to straight up transforming into a snake. This makes it difficult for him to leave the house during the winter, but he usually finds some kind of workaround.

What's more, a large group of demons are kept in a controlled location by a grove of wisteria that they cannot cross. The flower is so lethal that these demons would rather stay in one place and starve than expose themselves to it.

  Why do Ghouls persistently eat human flesh when doing so makes them vulnerable to attack, and many of them actually feel guilty about chowing down on another sentient species? Because they literally can't eat anything else. Anything that another species might eat, be it meat, vegetables, grains, dairy, or anything else, will not only taste repulsive to a ghoul, but will also make them violently ill. As such, it's kind of hard to blame them for their diets, even if humans don't exactly benefit.
