  • (#1) RoboCop

    • Fictional Character

At WCW's 1990 Capital Combat pay-per-view, Ric Flair (flanked by his Four Horsemen cohorts) was set to do battle with Lex Luger for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, but Luger's best pal Sting wasn't going to just sit idly by and let the heel stable cheat their way to another victory. In the buildup to the big event, Sting announced he had some backup… in the form of Detroit's cybernetic dealer of justice, Robocop! What better way to promote the release of Robocop 2?

When Capital Combat came around, Flair's Four Horsemen cronies, Sid Vicious, Ole, and Arn Anderson attacked Sting and locked him in a cage at ringside. That's when the titanium supercop burst onto the scene (read: slowly meandered down the entrance ramp), and tore the door off the hinges of the cage, freeing Sting, and causing the Horsemen to flee.
  • (#2) The Muppets

Over the last few years, the lovable, hilarious puppet cast of Jim Henson's The Muppet Show have made a number of appearances on WWE Raw, interacting with a number of WWE superstars. Some highlights include: Gonzo getting stretched by Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger, Beaker having a brief family reunion with his cousin Sheamus, Kermit getting a kiss from Kelly Kelly, Miss Piggy getting handsy with John Morrison's abs, and Animal ringing the ring bell before a match.
  • (#3) Tommy Lister

Although originally just a fictional character created to oppose Hulk Hogan's Rip in the film No Holds Barred, Tiny Lister reprised his role as Zeus in the squared circle. The Human Wrecking Machine, as he was sometimes called, was furious, wanting to seek revenge for his loss in the movie (not to mention for Hulkster receiving top billing over him).

Zeus and Hulk went on to do battle on three different occasions. The first was a tag match at SummerSlam '89 between Hulk Hogan and his sidekick Brutus "the Barber" Beefcake against Zeus and "Macho Man" Randy Savage, where Hogan and Brutus were victorious. The second was at Survivor Series '89 where The Hulkamaniacs (composed of Hogan, Jake Roberts, and Ax & Smash of Demolition) took on the Million Dollar Team (Zeus, Ted DiBiase, The Warlord, and the Barbarian). Team Hogan was victorious once again. The final battle took place at an event titled No Holds Barred: The Match/The Movie and was a rematch of the first tag with Hogan/Beefcake vs Zeus/Savage, but this time in a steel cage! Hulk picked up his third victory, and Zeus never appeared in a WWE ring again.
  • (#4) Elvira

    • Given Name
In the early-to-mid '80s, Cassandra Peterson took on the role of her lifetime as late night horror TV hostess and "Mistress of the Dark," Elvira. The popular character and her satirical, sarcastic edge took the world by storm and before long, she made a surprise appearance at Wrestlemania II's Los Angeles location, appearing in the commentary booth alongside Jesse Ventura and Lord Alfred Hayes. That wasn't her only foray into the wrestling world, however. In 1990, Elvira helped WCW promote Halloween Havoc. How apropos.
  • (#5) Batman

    • Fictional Character
Sometimes it's important that the World's Greatest Detective step outside of Gotham City to pursue a case. In this instance, the destination was Memphis, and the criminal was none other than Jerry "the King" Lawler. Batman (played by Adam West, arguably the greatest live-action incarnation of the Dark Knight) barged into CWA Memphis Wrestling sporting his signature cowl and a tracksuit (he's undercover, after all) to call out Lawler, and accuse him of colluding with Mr. Freeze and the Penguin. After an exchange of words, Lawler made his exit. We can only presume, as inferred by the interviewer, that this heated rivalry was settled off-screen at a local Memphis car show, which is probably the real reason Mr. West was in Memphis to begin with.
  • (#6) Richard Belding

Dennis Haskins, the actor who played Saved By the Bell's Mr. Belding has been a pro-wrestling fan for much of his life. After making multiple appearances on Zack Ryder's hit YouTube series, Z! True Long Island Story, Haskins decided to take the next step...

He's since made a number of appearances for New Jersey-based Pro Wrestling Syndicate and it's spinoff promotion, WrestlePro. Under the name Mr. Belding, he's had in-ring confrontations with wrestlers, competed in an 8-man tag match, and more recently, managed a team dressed up as Zack Morris and A.C. Slater, billed as The Bayside Tigers.
  • (#7) Chucky

    • Fictional Character
In the midst of a heated feud between the Steiner Brothers in WCW's later years, something inexplicable- nay, absurd, and mortifying happened. While Rick was being interviewed by Mean Gene in the middle of the ring, he was suddenly interrupted by none other than the psychopathic killer Good Guy doll, Chucky! Chucky had some choice words for both Mean Gene and the Dog-Faced Gremlin, but ultimately, his completely out-of-left-field appearance was merely promotion for the release of his new movie, Bride of Chucky. Fans were left baffled, but years later, at least we can look back and laugh. Chucky sure did.
  • (#8) William Shatner

    • Actor
William Shatner is known for playing some of TV's most iconic characters: Captain Kirk, T.J. Hooker, Boston Legal's Denny Crane, but it was his reprisal of the Priceline Negotiator on Monday Night Raw that no one will ever forget. Or have you all forgotten already? In the form of "Raw Match Negotiator" (complete with catchy jingle and snazzy graphics), Shatner set up a tag team title number one contender match between ShoMiz and the Straight Edge Society's CM Punk and Luke Gallows.
  • (#9) Pee-wee Herman

    • Fictional Character
In November 2010, zany kids TV host and movie star, Pee-Wee Herman made a guest appearance on Raw to promote his Broadway show. Coming down the ramp to the Pee-Wee's Playhouse theme song, the WWE Universe (ugh, are we still calling it that?) was treated to Pee-Wee's first televised "secret word of the day" in years - ring (AAAAAAAH!!). Shortly thereafter, Pee-Wee was interrupted by the Miz and Alex Riley, who were none-too-pleased by the crowd's incessant screams anytime the word was mentioned. Before things got too heated, Pee-Wee's good pal, The Big Show came down the ramp dressed in Pee-Wee's signature attire to help even the odds, and join Pee-Wee in the Tequila dance.
  • (#10) The Three Stooges

    • Short Film
Nobody was happy about the 2010 Three Stooges movie remake starring Chris Diamantopoulos (as Moe), Sean Hayes (as Larry), and WIll Sasso (as Curly), but that didn't stop WWE from bringing the slapstick trio in to guest host Raw. Of course, can you really fault them after you've seen Sasso's incredible Hulk Hogan impression? Needless to say, the audience wasn't pleased. Thankfully, "The Big Red Machine" Kane knew just what'd lift the live crowd's spirits - Curly/Hogan getting chokeslammed.
  • (#11) John Shaft

    • Fictional Character
To help promote the 2000 Shaft remake starring Samuel L. Jackson, Jackson (as Shaft) made an appearance on WWE Smackdown. Crash Holly, overwhelmed with the stress of the Hardcore Championship's 24-7 rule and finding himself out of options, enlisted Shaft as his personal protection, making it Shaft's "duty to protect [Crash's] booty." When Patterson and Brisco came snooping around looking for the diminutive hardcore champ, Shaft shut them both up right quick with a single backhand swing, proving that he's still one bad mutha--
  • Arliss on Random Best Appearances by Fictional Characters in Wrestling

    (#12) Arliss

    • Fictional Character
From 1996-2002, Robert Wuhl starred as the titular character and sports agent in the HBO series, Arli$$. Even still, it was strange when he made an appearance on WCW Nitro, not as himself, but as Arliss the character. Claiming to be scouting new talent, Arliss sat alongside Scott Hudson and Bobby Heenan at the commentary booth during a match between "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Billy Kidman, but the whole time he rambled on about Dennis Rodman's star power, calling him the "savior" of WCW. He even went so far as to claim that if Rodman wrestled Savage, "it'll break every record on pay-per-view, mark my words." Moments later, Rodman ran-in and took out Savage, while Arliss blathered on about Rodman's star power. Savage and Rodman did go on to battle at WCW Road Wild '99 with the match at one point spilling into a porta-potty. Despite that, and despite Arliss's prediction, the PPV did a dismal buy rate.
