Though Ladd Russo is a hitman, murder isn't just his job—it's also his passion. He loves thinking about how the victim feels as they're dying, particularly those who don't suspect their demise.

"Forget about yourself for a second and try saving others. Don't wield your power for your own sake. Because getting trapped by your own hate and acting out of pure self-interest... makes you the furthest thing from a hero."
Stain may actively attempt to kill Tenya Iida, but that doesn't mean he won't offer the would-be hero some advice. Stain assaults Tenya's brother Tensei because the villain believes pro heroes are obsessed with money and fame, not true heroism.
Tenya goes after Stain in the name of revenge, but the warning from Stain sticks with him long after the battle is over.

"I wonder how young I was when I started obsessing over a steel castle floating in the sky. I wanted to fly up and reach that castle. That was all I desired for the longest time. [...] I still believe that the castle exists in some other world."
Akihiko Kayaba trapped thousands of people in an online game, ostensibly subjecting them to death. They're either killed in the game, which translates to immediate death in real life, or their bodies waste away from staying in the virtual world too long.
Akihiko never fully explains why he did something so terrible. This quote is the closest he comes, and the haunting sentiment pushes viewers to consider how one becomes so detached from their humanity.

(#24) Muzan Kibutsuji Believes He's A Perfect Being In 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba'
"Does my complexion look unhealthy to you? Is my face pale? Do I look sickly to you? Do I look like I'm not long for this world? Do I look like I'm about to die? Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. I'm a living being who's infinitely close to perfection."
This quote is quite chilling as Muzan tells this to his victim right before he brutally murders her in a gruesome fashion. As the creator of all Demons, Muzan is the most powerful being in the world. Because there's very few people who can defeat him, he possesses a god complex and is obsessed with becoming a perfect being.

"The weak are destined to lie beneath the boots of the strong. If that angers you, overcome your deficits."
As one of the strongest Teigu users in the world, Esdeath is anything but weak. This high-ranking general believes in the philosophy of "survival of the fittest" and feels no remorse for killing anyone she deems weaker than her. It's this mentality that makes her one of the most ruthless and fearsome anime villains ever.
