  • 'The Terminal Beach' Has An End-Game on Random Easter Eggs In 'Avengers: Endgame' You Definitely Missed

(#1) 'The Terminal Beach' Has An End-Game

Once Scott Lang escapes from his stint in the Quantum Realm, he faces the very real possibility he'll never escape from the storage facility in which his van is stored. Thankfully, a sympathetic security guard played by Ken Jeong helps him escape.

But before he does, the security guard puts down his book - The Terminal Beach. This book was published in 1964 and includes several short science fiction stories, including one titled End-Game.

  • One Of The 'Endgame' Assistant Directors Is Missing on Random Easter Eggs In 'Avengers: Endgame' You Definitely Missed

(#2) One Of The 'Endgame' Assistant Directors Is Missing

During the scene where Captain America counsels Snap survivors in the basement of a church, we see a sign mentioning a certain Matthew Haggerty. That name doesn't mean much in the fictional world of the MCU, but it is important in the real world of Marvel Studios.

Haggerty was an assistant director on Infinity War and Endgame, and he even worked on the first Iron Man back in 2008.

  • Captain America's 1970s Disguise Is A Nod To Another Captain America on Random Easter Eggs In 'Avengers: Endgame' You Definitely Missed

(#3) Captain America's 1970s Disguise Is A Nod To Another Captain America

As part of his disguise for the brief detour to the 1970s, Steve Rogers dons a soldier uniform with the name "Roscoe" on it. This is most likely a reference to the comic character Roscoe Simons, who takes up the Captain America mantle for a brief run in the mid-'70s when Steve puts down the shield to become Nomad.

  • A Fantasy Football Expert Backs Up Secretary Pierce on Random Easter Eggs In 'Avengers: Endgame' You Definitely Missed

(#4) A Fantasy Football Expert Backs Up Secretary Pierce

This is more of a cameo for sports and fantasy football fanatics, but ESPN's senior fantasy analyst, Matthew Berry, shows up in 2012 New York as a personal bodyguard for secret Hydra member Alexander Pierce. He doesn't look as imposing as some of the other Hydra double-agents, but maybe he's just there to advise on whether Aaron Rodgers was worth a first round pick in Pierce's fantasy draft.

  • Thanos's Co-Creator Makes An Appearance At Therapy on Random Easter Eggs In 'Avengers: Endgame' You Definitely Missed

(#5) Thanos's Co-Creator Makes An Appearance At Therapy

After half of all life on Earth is eliminated by Thanos, Steve Rogers spends some of his downtime running a counseling group. It's a pretty high-profile one too based on the members. Not only does one of the movies' directors, Joe Russo, share a story about dating post-Snap, but Jim Starlin, the co-creator of Thanos himself, is also there to seek and provide emotional support to fellow survivors.

  • Howard The Duck Joins The Climactic Battle on Random Easter Eggs In 'Avengers: Endgame' You Definitely Missed

(#6) Howard The Duck Joins The Climactic Battle

The final battle against Thanos and his forces showcases a truly epic collection of heroes from every corner of the MCU. Each portal brings a different group of reinforcments, from Valkyrie and the Asgardians to Black Panther, Okoye, Shuri, and Wakandan forces. The sheer volume of characters coming together makes it hard to pick out everyone on just one viewing. The Russo brothers fill the scene with characters, including a treat to fans of the oddball corner of Marvel's cosmos. Howard the Duck emerges with a group of Ravagers to make the last stand and maybe stick around on Earth for some future adventures.

  • (#7) "I Love You 3000" Came From A Surprising Source

When Tony is tucking his daughter into bed after sorting out how to safely travel through time, she tells her father, "I love you 3000" which he later brags about to Pepper Pots. The line became an emotional pressure point after Tony's passing when he says it again at his memorial service. It's no surprise that the phrase has taken on a life of its own with fans using it in their day to day.

Endgame writer Christopher Markus revealed that Tony's daughter was initially supposed to say, "I love you tons," but RDJ inspired the change on set. Apparently, RDJ and his kids actually say, "I love you 3000" to each other, and the writers liked it so much they put it in the film.

  • Morgan Stark Is A Comic Book Character - But Not Tony's Daughter on Random Easter Eggs In 'Avengers: Endgame' You Definitely Missed

(#8) Morgan Stark Is A Comic Book Character - But Not Tony's Daughter

Even though Tony and Pepper name their daughter Morgan in Avengers: Endgame, she's not the same Morgan Stark that fans may know from the comics. That Morgan Stark is actually Tony's cousin and also a recurring villain. In the comics, Morgan's father sold his shares in Stark Industries decades earlier, so this version of Morgan Stark resents Tony for his success and riches. Morgan teams up with villains like Madame Masque and the forces of H.A.M.M.E.R. to pester Iron Man both as a businessman and as a superhero.

Even stranger, in Avengers: Infinity War, Tony tells Pepper he had a dream they had a son. Clearly, the name Morgan is both some kind of homage and a fake out for comic book super fans.

  • The Asgardians Settle Down In A Town With Deep Connections To MCU History on Random Easter Eggs In 'Avengers: Endgame' You Definitely Missed

(#9) The Asgardians Settle Down In A Town With Deep Connections To MCU History

Hulk, Rocket Raccoon, and Thor (with a little help from Korg and Miek) have one of the funniest scenes in Endgame when Hulk and Rocket recruit Thor to join the big time heist for the Infinity Stones. The jade giant and gun-toting raccoon hitch a ride to New Asgard, the settlement where Thor, Valyrie, and the remaining Asgardian refugees made home after the Snap. Their town was originally called Tønsberg, and that place appeared a couple of earlier MCU movies.

According to the MCU timeline, Tønsberg first popped up in 945 A.D. when Odin led the forces of Asgard against Laufey and his frost giants. Odin sent Laufey and the giants back to Jotunheim, but at some point around then, people found the Tesseract and gave it to an order of Odin's followers. Flash forward to WWII when the Red Skull sacked the town in order to take the Tesseract for himself. It looks like the New Asgardians never forgot the town's place in MCU history.

  • Hulk Eats Some Of His Signature Ben & Jerry's Flavor on Random Easter Eggs In 'Avengers: Endgame' You Definitely Missed

(#10) Hulk Eats Some Of His Signature Ben & Jerry's Flavor

The scene where Bruce Banner, Tony Stark, Dr. Strange, and Wong meet at the beginning of Infinity War is full of revelations. Not only do Stark, Strange, and Wong learn about the approaching threat of Thanos, but Banner finds out he got his own Ben & Jerry's flavor while living the gladiator life in space. Wong in particular is a fan of "Hulk-A, Hulk-A Burning Fudge" but there's not nearly enough time for Baner to get a taste befor Thanos' Black Order attacks New York City.

The five-year time jump in Endgame is more than enough time for Banner to get an eponymous pint. Hulk eats a Hulk-sized tub of Ben & Jerry's while the Avengers brainstorm a plan for the time heist. The name of the flavor isn't shown, but the ice cream inside - mint green with a thick fudge swirl - sure looks like some "Hulk-A, Hulk-A Burning Fudge".

  • The Credits End With The Sound Of Tony Creating His Armor In 'Iron Man' on Random Easter Eggs In 'Avengers: Endgame' You Definitely Missed

(#11) The Credits End With The Sound Of Tony Creating His Armor In 'Iron Man'

Avengers: Endgame is the first MCU movie to not include a post-credits scene, but that doesn't mean the filmmakers didn't leave something for loyal fans who stuck around. Instead of a scene teasing the next MCU movie, the credits end with the sound of metal clanging. As it turns out, this is the sound of Tony Stark building his first Iron Man suit way back in 2008's Iron Man, a fitting tribute to the character and the journey fans have been on since that first MCU film.

  • Two 'Community' Characters Make Appearances on Random Easter Eggs In 'Avengers: Endgame' You Definitely Missed

(#12) Two 'Community' Characters Make Appearances

Before the Russo brothers directed four of the MCU's biggest movies, they were considered go-to directors on a number of TV comedies. One of their most well-known TV credits is the cult-classic Community.

Community star Danny Pudi cameoed in the Russos' first MCU movie, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, while Jim Rash showed up in Captain America: Civil War, so it should come as no surprise that both Professor Chang (Ken Jeong) and Shirley Bennett (Yvette Nicole Brown) make cameo appearances in Endgame.

  • Tony Stark Stayed In Touch With The Kid From 'Iron Man 3' on Random Easter Eggs In 'Avengers: Endgame' You Definitely Missed

(#13) Tony Stark Stayed In Touch With The Kid From 'Iron Man 3'

During Tony Stark's funeral, the camera pans slowly between all the characters in attendance, driving home the way Iron Man has touched every corner of the MCU. Marvel fans know pretty much all of them, but there's a brief, lingering shot on a teenager all by himself.

As it turns out, that teenager is Harley Keener from Iron Man 3, a minor character in the overall MCU who played a significant role in Tony's life. In the third Iron Man movie, Harley is a 10-year-old boy who helps Tony repair his Iron Man suit when he's stuck in Tennessee.

  • Sam Is Always On Cap's Left on Random Easter Eggs In 'Avengers: Endgame' You Definitely Missed

(#14) Sam Is Always On Cap's Left

When Cap - having already having had his his a** thoroughly yet adminarably handed to thim by Thanos - faces off against an army of interstellar warriors in Endgame, he does so nobly, facing his own demisewith good posture and a shattered shield. When salvation arrives, however, it does so with a referential kick.

Don't forget that first meeting between Steve and Sam Wilson in Captain America: The Winter Soldier was defined by Cap, consisently looping Sam on a morning run, calling, "On your left."

  • Idealized Hulk Has A Name: Professor Hulk on Random Easter Eggs In 'Avengers: Endgame' You Definitely Missed

(#15) Idealized Hulk Has A Name: Professor Hulk

By the time we meet Hulk in Avengers: Endgame, he's practically reached a state of absolute tranquility. He's learned to coexist with his scary monster self, and now remains a green guy - albeit with stylish glasses - full-time.

This isn't something made up for the movie, it's been in the comics for awhile. Once Hulk learns to coexist with his alter egos, he becomes Professor Hulk. And apparently, Professor Hulk is a fan favorite even to kids in the MCU.

  • Tony Always Loved Cheeseburgers on Random Easter Eggs In 'Avengers: Endgame' You Definitely Missed

    (#16) Tony Always Loved Cheeseburgers

When Happy Hogan asks Tony Stark's daughter Morgan what she'd like to eat at the funeral, Morgan immediately responds with cheeseburgers. While lots of people like cheeseburgers, this shows Morgan is a lot like her father. After Tony escapes from captivity in the original Iron Man, his first request to Happy after he gets back to the United States is to get some cheeseburgers. Like father, like daughter.

  • Tony Finally Gets To Say Something To His Dad on Random Easter Eggs In 'Avengers: Endgame' You Definitely Missed

(#17) Tony Finally Gets To Say Something To His Dad

There's a scene early in Captain America: Civil War that initially appears to be a flashback depicting a conversation between a young Tony Stark and his parents. It's revealed to be a holographic simulation that Tony calls an $611 million therapeutic experiment. That moment is a foundational trauma for Tony, since he never got a chance to tell his parents, and especially his father, how much he loved and appreciated them.

It's clear that the holographic version is still a hollow imitation to Tony, but he gets a chance to make amends due to the time travel in Endgame. When he and Captain America go back to 1970, Tony bumps into his father and gets to say some of the things he never got to say and offer a few pieces of his own fatherly wisdom.

  • Thor Finally Goes For Thanos's Head on Random Easter Eggs In 'Avengers: Endgame' You Definitely Missed

(#18) Thor Finally Goes For Thanos's Head

One of the worst decisions in Avengers: Infinity War is Thor's attempt to stop Thanos by hitting him in the chest with Stormbreaker. Thor spends the entire movie acquiring an all-powerful axe, but instead of aiming for Thanos's gauntlet hand or the Mad Titan's head, Thor goes for the armored chest. The Snap shows just how bad a move that was.

In Endgame, Thor gets to correct his mistake by cutting off Thanos's hand as well as his head. It doesn't help much at the time, but it's a tactic Thor probably used while playing Fortnite for the next five years.
