  • Namor Will Show Up on Random Fan Theories About How MCU Will Pull Itself Together And Continue Post-'Endgame'

    (#2) Namor Will Show Up

A contemporary storyline in Marvel Comics features T’Challa’s nation of Wakanda entering into a conflict with the subterranean empire of Atlantis, led by Namor the Sub-Mariner, one of Marvel’s oldest characters. Fans have been waiting for Namor to show up since the Marvel Cinematic Universe began, and Redditor /u/jajalool thinks the seeds have already been planted in Avengers: Endgame.

When making a report to Natasha Romanoff, Okoye makes reference to underwater earthquakes, which might seem like a throwaway line. Alternatively, however, it could be foreshadowing Namor’s impending arrival - and setting him up for conflict with Okoye and the other Wakandans, perhaps in a Black Panther sequel. Redditor /u/jajalool says, "Namor will be the next villain for Black Panther. The mention of the earthquake under the ocean was a hint towards it. Namor will be mad his people were lost, and will believe that he is superior to the heroes we have."

  • Tony Stark Comes Back Via Artificial Intelligence on Random Fan Theories About How MCU Will Pull Itself Together And Continue Post-'Endgame'

(#5) Tony Stark Comes Back Via Artificial Intelligence

In a film filled with tragic moments, one of the most tear-jerking is Tony Stark’s holographic goodbye to his family after sacrificing his life. However, as Redditor /u/arbygoodknight and several others have theorized, Tony Stark may continue to be a presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Stark has perished in the pages of Marvel Comics before, and he’s been replaced by an AI version of himself that can pilot his Iron Man suits and continue operating as an Avenger. Could the MCU version of the character be in for a similar future? Fans of the theory believe it would make for a thematically-sound conclusion to Stark’s story arc:

Arnim Zola did this in the 1950s, as we saw in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. AI Zola said, "I might be dead, but look around you, I’ve never been so alive." Now, with an AI Tony Stark, he becomes THE first line of defence. [In] Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tony said, "I see a suit of armour around the world." Again, with an AI Tony Stark, he becomes THE suit of armour around the world. That’s what he always wanted right?

  • Morgan Stark Will Carry Her Father’s Mantle on Random Fan Theories About How MCU Will Pull Itself Together And Continue Post-'Endgame'

(#4) Morgan Stark Will Carry Her Father’s Mantle

Tony Stark may be gone, but he’s left behind a powerful legacy - quite literally so in the case of his daughter Morgan. While the youngest Stark is at least decade away from doing any superheroing of her own, the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn’t going away anytime soon, so there’s plenty of time for Morgan to take up her father’s mantle as the new Iron Man.

According to a theory by Redditor /u/RyanS148, Morgan Stark will take the name Ironheart - a moniker carried by a young girl in the pages of Marvel Comics who was inspired by Tony Stark. Morgan’s appearance in Pepper’s helmet in Endgame could foreshadow Morgan eventually suiting up one day.

  • The Snaps Created Mutants on Random Fan Theories About How MCU Will Pull Itself Together And Continue Post-'Endgame'

    (#3) The Snaps Created Mutants

In Avengers: Endgame, Rocket notes that Thanos’s initial universe-dusting snap released an unprecedented wave of gamma energy - and then two further snaps occurred over the course of the film. That means the planet Earth has now been bathed in cosmic radiation on three separate occasions over a five-year period - and that’s the sort of thing that could lead to mutations.

Since the Disney/Fox merger went through, fans have been on tenterhooks waiting for an announcement of the X-Men and their mutant ilk joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Many, including Redditor /u/SirNekk, believe the seeds have already been planted. The Infinity Stones might be gone, but their lasting legacy could be the creation of mutants in the MCU, including characters like Wolverine, Cyclops, and Storm.

  • Mysterio Has A Fantastic Surprise Identity on Random Fan Theories About How MCU Will Pull Itself Together And Continue Post-'Endgame'

(#12) Mysterio Has A Fantastic Surprise Identity

Update: Debunked. Not only is Mysterio definitely not Reed Richards, he's also not even from another Earth. He's a disgruntled former employee of Stark Industries, and a certified villain.

    * * *

Most fans with a passing knowledge of Spider-Man comics don’t believe that the Mysterio presented in Far From Home trailers is legitimately a hero from an alternate Earth - or at least not the hero he claims to be. While most theories about Mysterio predict his eventual reveal as a duplicitous villain, some fans believe he really is from elsewhere in the Multiverse - but they still don't think he's the real Mysterio.

Redditor /u/Mookie89 has theorized that the Mysterio portrayed by Jake Gyllenhaal in Far From Home is actually Reed Richards, a founding member of the Fantastic Four. However, Redditor /u/Wildmansy notes that Mysterio’s powers are similar to those of Victor von Doom.

  • Tony Stark Will Leave A High-Tech Inheritance To Peter Parker on Random Fan Theories About How MCU Will Pull Itself Together And Continue Post-'Endgame'

(#6) Tony Stark Will Leave A High-Tech Inheritance To Peter Parker

Update: Confirmed! In Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter Parker is given a pair of high-tech Tony Stark shades that are programmed with an artificial intelligence (E.D.I.T.H.) that can remotely access Stark Industries' databases and an army of drones.

Some fan theories regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are general and overarching, but others are highly specific - and one by Redditor /u/papa_prevail definitely falls into the latter category.

They posit that a scene from Spider-Man: Far From Home in which Peter Parker dons an old pair of Tony Stark’s sunglasses actually holds significant meaning, because Stark’s sunglasses likely contain some high-tech secrets. Specifically, they think Stark’s sunnies will allow Peter to see through Mysterio’s deceptions - and perhaps learn that the giant monsters that Mysterio is fighting are not quite what they seem.
