About This Tool
Lent is a period of atonement and abstinence observed by many Christians. The meaning of giving up something (ie fasting) is atonement and repentance. According to the New Testament, Jesus fasted and prayed in the wilderness for 40 days and nights before starting his mission. The church has set this holiday for commemoration.
During the Lent period, flowers will not be offered on the altar of the church, the believers will not be married, and entertainment should be stopped. Most Protestant denominations no longer observe this festival. The random tool lists 22 things that every Christian should give up for Lent.
