    New Orleans jazz legend Ellis Marsalis Jr. died on April 1, 2020, due to complications from the virus. He was 85. His son Branford Marsalis confirmed the news to The New York Times

He said he'd been in self-quarantine since Broadway shut down earlier in the month, and his symptoms were mild. Tveit also reported a loss of sense of taste and smell, which is apparently a symptom for some people.
