In a Facebook post on March 22, 2020, opera singer and conductor Plácido Domingo said he had tested positive for COVID-19. Domingo said he felt it was his "moral duty" to let people know, and he was self-isolating while experiencing fever and cough symptoms.
"Together we can fight this virus and stop the current worldwide crisis, so we can hopefully return to our normal daily lives very soon," he wrote. "Please follow your local government’s guidelines and regulations for staying safe and protecting not just yourselves but our entire community."

Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen revealed on Instagram on March 20, 2020, that he tested positive. Initially, Cohen had planned to host his talk show from his apartment, but he has since put those plans on hold.
"After a few days of self-quarantine, and not feeling great, I have tested positive... As much as I felt like I could push through whatever I was feeling to do #WWHL from home, we’re putting a pin in that for now so I can focus on getting better. I want to thank all the medical professionals who are working tirelessly for all of us, and urge everybody to stay home and take care of themselves," his caption read.
Update: Cohen maintained isolation, treated himself at home and is reportedly feeling better. -

New Orleans jazz legend Ellis Marsalis Jr. died on April 1, 2020, due to complications from the virus. He was 85. His son Branford Marsalis confirmed the news to The New York Times.
"Ellis Marsalis was a legend. He was the prototype of what we mean when we talk about New Orleans jazz. He was a teacher, a father, and an icon - and words aren't sufficient to describe the art, the joy and the wonder he showed the world," New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell said in a statement.

Moulin Rouge! star Aaron Tveit shared on social media on March 23, 2020, that he had been diagnosed. He said he'd been in self-quarantine since Broadway shut down earlier in the month, and his symptoms were mild. Tveit also reported a loss of sense of taste and smell, which is apparently a symptom for some people.
Like many other celebrities, Tveit, who's also starred in the TV shows Gossip Girl and BrainDead, urged his fans to take this very seriously. "I want everyone to realize that this can affect anyone," he wrote. "And even if you aren’t feeling sick or showing drastic symptoms - please take heed, stay safe, stay healthy and I hope to see everyone at the theater again soon."

Tom Hanks announced via Instagram on March 11, 2020, that he and his wife, Rita Wilson, tested positive.
He also wrote, "Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no? We’ll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves!"
He and Wilson are in Australia, where Hanks is filming Baz Luhrmann's upcoming untitled Elvis Presley biopic, playing Presley's manager Colonel Tom Parker.
Update: Hanks and Wilson are back in their home of Los Angeles and practicing social distancing as they continue their lives post-recovery.
