  (#5) A Pride Of Lions Take Revenge

  In 2016, a group of men went out looking for elephants in Zimbabwe, but got lions - 20 of them. In the middle of tracking their prey, they looked up and were met with a whole pack of very angry cats. Apparently, they were attacked almost immediately, and five of them were abruptly slaughtered. Three men made it out with injuries ranging from minor to severe. They fled to a nearby village to treat their wounds and were arrested. 

  Those lions weren't putting up with poachers on their land.

  (#10) Poachers Will Be Poached

  While this isn't necessarily a case of animal poaching poacher, the outcome is the same. Apparently, poaching has become so intense, and there are so many, that park officials are now ordered to kill captured poachers. It looks like the inhabitants of the park have worked out a little deal. 

  This is obviously causing some controversy among people in South Africa, but it seems like the park is at a loss for what to do. They even have billboards up that read "Poachers will be poached."

  (#8) This Lion Lost It On A Group Of Poachers

  We all know it's not a good idea to interact with wild animals like they're our house cat. These poachers, however, weren't so smart, and were lucky to make it out alive. 

  In 2013, a group of men saw a lion from afar and waited in some brush to get the right shot, but little did they know that while they're tracking the lion, another lion was tracking them. They shot and missed, and then the lion came barrelling toward them. It jumped and attacked one of them, knocking him to the ground. The others scattered and the lion trotted off, pleased with itself. Hopefully, this will be a warning not them not to come back again.

  A infamous tale of a poacher being attacked by its prey is that of Vladimir Markov, who met his end when he shot and wounded a tiger, and then stole its dinner.

  You may not believe this, but later the tiger staked out Markov's home and - in a premeditative act - destroyed everything in it before waiting by the door for Markov to get home. When he finally did, the tiger immediately attacked him, and then dragged him into some nearby brush to finish him off and have him for dinner. How's that for irony?

  In 2015, a group of five poachers had a brush with death in South Africa when the very animal they were illegally hunting hunted them.

  One poacher, later identified as 24-year-old Matome Mahlale, was mauled to death by his game while his friend fled the scene. Three of the men were forced to climb a nearby tree, and miraculously, one escaped. Unfortunately, two dogs that the men had taken with them to assist in the hunt were killed, but the death and extreme fear caused by the lions seemed to be well deserved.

  In October 2017, the tables against one poacher truly turned. In Namibia, a rhino decided he wasn't having it and injured his poacher when he least expected it. 

  Apparently, the poacher said the rhino came "out of nowhere." He was tracking the animal and all of a sudden he was being trampled by it. While he did eventually find refuge, his leg was severely injured. He was arrested and taken to a hospital where he stayed under guard by the police.
