  • (#1) CM Punk's Pipe Bomb Promo

    CM Punk cut this now-infamous promo on an episode of Monday Night Raw in 2011, three weeks before he was set to meet John Cena for the WWE title at Money in the Bank, which was to take place coincidentally the night his contract with WWE expired.

    Punk got a live microphone and free reign to get things off his chest, and he broke every rule along the way in what many consider the best promo of the PG era.

    Memorable quote: "I'd like to think that maybe this company will be better off after Vince McMahon is dead, but the fact is, it's going to be taken over by his idiotic daughter and his doofus son-in-law and the rest of his stupid family."

  • (#2) Stone Cold Steve Austin's King of the Ring Promo

    Stone Cold Steve Austin's King of the Ring Promo in 1996 saw the coining of a couple of Austin's two most notable catchphrases. For that reason alone, it remains an iconic speech.

    Memorable quote: "You sit there and you thump your bible, and you say your prayers, and it didn't get you anywhere. Talk about your psalms, talk about John 3:16...Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass!"

  • (#3) Dusty Rhodes's Hard Times Promo

    In 1985, Dusty Rhodes cut one of the era's great promos on Ric Flair leading up to their championship match. By relating directly to the working class, Rhodes delivered what many consider to be the best promo of his career.

    Memorable quote: "Hard times are when the auto workers are out of work and they tell them go home, and hard times are when a man has worked at a job 30 years, 30 years they give him a watch, kick him in the butt and say hey, a computer took your place daddy."

  • (#4) Randy Savage's Cream of the Crop Promo

    Macho Man Randy Savage was known for his next-level energy and crazed persona when delivering promos. His Cream of the Crop promo is up there with the most noteworthy of his career. Many WWE superstars could match Savage's wordplay, but few could match his energy and delivery.

    Memorable quote: "The Macho Man Randy Savage is not happy with your decision, yeah. I am the cream in the World Wrestling Federation and there is no doubt about it, yeah, you Mean Gene Okerlund, you know that I'm the cream of the crop!"

     

  • (#5) The Miz's Talking Smack Promo

    Fed up with not getting the respect he deserved as WWE Intercontinental Champion, The Miz snapped on SmackDown Live general manager Daniel Bryan, delivering a few minutes of fire that caused Bryan to get up and walk off.

    Talking Smack didn't last long as SmackDown Live's own talk show, but it allowed characters to express themselves openly and created moments like you see here.

    Memorable quote: "Well why don’t you quit? Why don’t you quit and go to the bingo halls with your indie friends, Daniel?"

  • (#6) Chris Jericho's WWE Debut Promo

    Chris Jericho jumped from WCW to WWE in 1999 in dramatic fashion, crashing Monday Night Raw and interrupting The Rock to create one of the more memorable debuts in wrestling.

    Memorable quote: "You people have been led to believe that mediocrity is excellence. Uh-uh. Jericho is excellence. And now for the first time in WWF history, you have a man who can entertain you."

  • (#7) Paul Heyman's One Night Stand 2005 Promo

    Paul Heyman was able to spread his wings as the head of ECW, and at One Night Stand 2005, he let the visiting WWE superstars have it.

    Memorable quote: "The only reason you were WWE champion for a year, is because Triple H didn't want to work Tuesdays."

  • (#8) Chris Jericho's 1,004 Holds Promo

    Chris Jericho has always been one of the best comedic promos, not to mention he can be quite the showman.

    In this promo, he broke out his list of 1,004 holds to show the crowd just how great of a wrestler he is.

    Memorable quote: "Malenko, you claim to be the man of a thousand holds. But I counted and you know about sixty. But I know 1,004 and I wrote them all down, here we go:"

  • (#9) Bret Hart Snaps

    Bret Hart was one of the icons of his generation and a perennial good guy, but a man can only take so much.

    Never known for his microphone skills, Hart delivered a promo in 1997 where he threw Vince McMahon to the ground and let out all his pent up aggression.

    Memorable quote: "Frustrated isn't the g*ddamn word for it!"

  • (#10) A.J. Lee's Total Divas Promo

    On Monday Night Raw in 2013, AJ Lee cut a pipe bomb of her own on the rest of the women's division, targeting the cast members of Total Divas specifically.

    Memorable quote: "I earned this championship, and no matter how many red carpets you guys want to walk in your $4,000 ridiculous heels, you will never be able to lace up my Chuck Taylors."

  • (#11) Hulk Hogan's Heel Turn Promo

    Hulk Hogan's heel turn to join the New World Order in 1996 was a shocking and iconic moment in wrestling history. Hogan was the most recognizable figure in the industry, and in one fell swoop he quickly became the top villain.

    Fans expressed their displeasure by filling the ring with garbage.

    Memorable quote: "As far as I'm concerned, all this crap in the ring represents the fans out here. For two years, brother, for two years, I held my head high... I did everything for the charities... I did everything for the kids... and the reception I got when I came out here... you fans can stick it, brother, because if it wasn't for Hulk Hogan, you people wouldn't be here."

  • (#12) The Rock's Billy Gunn Promo

    The Rock is known for being arguably the most charismatic wrestler of his generation, as well as a master on the microphone. In this promo on Sunday Night Heat in 1999, The Rock turns his angst to Billy Gunn in a legendary roast.

    Memorable quote: "Oh dear God... you see, my name's Billy. And I just won King of the Ring, but there's one problem. Everybody still thinks that I absolutely suck!"

  • (#13) Jay Lethal & Ric Flair's TNA Promo

    What this promo lacked in impact, it more than made up for in theatrics and creativity.

    TNA upstart Jay Lethal interrupted Ric Flair and his crew and what ensued was pure gold. Lethal went back and forth with Flair in his uncanny Ric Flair impersonation and brought back catchphrases that Flair himself likely even forgot about. The result was a rewatchable gem of a segment.

    Memorable quote: "Tonight, you're gonna find out that jumpin' on is a lot easier than jumpin' off."

  • (#14) CM Punk's Contract Signing

    Prior to the history-making match at Money in the Bank 2011, CM Punk had a contract signing with Vince McMahon to make sure he wasn't able to leave the company with the WWE title.

    In a long segment with a spirited back and forth, Punk did what Punk does best by getting everything off his chest and saying everything fans wanted to hear.

    Memorable quote: "I'm tired of you. I'm just tired. So, ladies and gentlemen of the WWE Universe, Vince, John... Sunday night, say goodbye to the WWE title. Say goodbye to John Cena. And say goodbye to CM Punk!"

  • (#15) Ric Flair's Royal Rumble Victory Speech

    After winning the 1992 Royal Rumble, Ric Flair proclaimed it the greatest moment in his life in a spirited promo that was short, sweet and certainly not lacking in charisma.

    He made sure on that night that everyone would pay homage to the man. 

    Memorable quote: "When you walk around this world, and you tell everybody that you’re number one, the only way that you get to stay number one is to be number one."

    It blurred the lines between fantasy and reality unlike anything fans had seen before and was the single defining moment that ushered in a new era of wrestling.

  • (#19) John Cena & Roman Reigns's Shoot Promo

    Oftentimes the best wrestling promos of all time are the ones that blur the lines between what's real and what's fake.

    Two powerhouses collide here for the first time in what was an iconic back and forth between Roman Reigns and John Cena. Reigns often gets criticism for being a corporate creation just like Cena, and the former takes ire in Cena's harsh criticism of him during what was one of 2017's most iconic moments.

    Memorable quote: "They go back and forth with you because when they look at you, they see what I see: A cheap-ass, corporately created John Cena bootleg."

  • (#20) Paul Heyman's SmackDown Promo

    Paul Heyman let loose on Vince McMahon in an episode of SmackDown in 2001, airing out all his grievances and shaming the boss for turning wrestling into a dirty word.

    This segment felt extremely personal and is one of Paul Heyman's best promos, which is saying a lot given his talent on the mic.

    Memorable quote: "You ran all the competition into the ground and you stole all their ideas and you made yourself a billionaire out of it! And you know whose ideas you stole the most, Vince? You stole mine."

  • (#21) Daniel Bryan's Retirement Speech

    Daniel Bryan took WWE by storm in a surprising run to the top, culminating with a dramatic WWE Championship victory in the main event of WrestleMania 30.

    Sadly, his small stature and chaotic in-ring style led to many concussions and neck injuries that forced him to retire at his peak in an extremely emotional segment to close an episode of Monday Night Raw.

    Memorable quote: "Trust me, I don’t want to be doing this anymore than you guys want me to be doing this, but the truth is I’ve been wrestling since I was eighteen years old. And within the first five months of my wrestling career, I’d already had three concussions. And, uh, for years after that, I would get a concussion here and there, or here or there, and it gets to the point that when you’ve been wrestling for sixteen years, that adds up to a lot of concussions. And it gets to a point where they tell you that you can’t wrestle anymore."

    Eddie Guerrero's real-life battle with addiction made its way onto the screen in one of Guerrero's best promos ever with Brock Lesnar. Unfortunately, Guerrero passed away early as many wrestlers do, but this promo will live on forever.

    Memorable quote: "When I stand across from you, and I see that across your waist, that symbolizes for me I'm sorry. That's my way of telling my family "I'm sorry". That's my way of telling my kids, I'm going to provide a better way of life for them. That's MY new addiction."

  • (#23) Shawn Michaels's Montreal Promo

    During Shawn Michaels's spirited real-life and kayfabe feud with Bret "The Hitman" Hart, he managed to turn the entire country of Canada against him with nothing but his words and his blatant disrespect.

    The entire feud was one of the defining rivalries of the Attitude Era, while this promo stands out as a highlight.

    Memorable quote: "Who's your daddy, Montreal?"

  • (#24) Paul Heyman's 21-1 Promo

    The Undertaker's undefeated streak at WrestleMania lasted over two decades and was held in regard as one of the most remarkable accomplishments in wrestling. At WrestleMania 30, Brock Lesnar put an end to it.

    Lesnar's advocate, Paul Heyman, opened the next night on Monday Night Raw establishing Lesnar as the one in 21-1.

    Memorable quote: "Randy Orton didn't break the streak, Shawn Michaels didn't break the streak, Triple H didn't break the streak. Know why? They're all wannabes. Brock Lesnar is the one because Brock Lesnar is the one in 21-1."

  • (#25) Edge's Retirement Speech

    Edge was one of the most beloved wrestlers of his generation as a babyface, and arguably its most despised as a heel. Either way, he was a legend in the ring, which made his retirement speech so emotional.

    Edge racked up title after title before giving way to a plethora of neck and back injuries in this spirited promo.

    Memorable quote: "Eight years ago, I broke my neck. I had spinal fusion surgery, which means they move your throat over, put a plate in there, screws – it’s really in depth surgery. But because of that surgery, I knew that I was wrestling on borrowed time from that point on."

  • (#26) Joey Styles's Quitting Promo

    WWE commentator Joey Styles finally had enough one day in 2006. He stood up and quit his job in dramatic fashion, likely inspiring a round of applause from angry employees across the nation.

    Memorable quote: "I am sick of sports entertainment, and most of all I am sick of you fans who actually buy into that crap! This sports entertainment circus! I never needed this job, and I don't want this job anymore. I quit!"

  • (#27) Matt Hardy Becomes Woken

    Matt Hardy took the wrestling industry by storm in 2016 with the rise of his "Broken" gimmick in TNA. Following many lawsuits with the company during his return to WWE, it took months to obtain intellectual property rights to bring the gimmick to WWE with him.

    The debut was worth the wait, as he and Bray Wyatt had a serious exchange to usher in the "Woken" era highlighted by ramblings of two madmen and maniacal laughter.

  • (#28) The Ultimate Warrior's Final Promo

    Ultimate Warrior appeared on Monday Night Raw in 2014 to cut a spirited promo in front of a supported crowd about how great the people in the locker room were and how he wants to be remembered. It was his first appearance on Raw in 18 years after appearing at WrestleMania 30 the night before to honor his induction to the WWE Hall of Fame.

    The promo lives on in history as Warrior sadly passed away the day after Monday Night Raw.

    Memorable quote: "Every man's heart one day beats its final beat. His lungs breathe their final breath. And if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them bleed deeper and something larger than life - then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized."

    During his Ring of Honor days, CM Punk made a name for himself in the wrestling industry prior to his heralded run as WWE champion.

    Bray Wyatt opened an episode of Monday Night Raw in 2014 with this infamous "Miss Teacher Lady" promo that began with the crowd yelling their notorious "What?" chants, and ended with the arena serenading him to the tune of "He's got the whole world in his hands."

    Wyatt won the crowd over in mere minutes with a personal story that resonated among everyone to create a special moment.

    Memorable quote: "In our dreams we can fix everything. We dream of revenge, we dream of payback. Just like that man, just like that we wake up and that's when reality starts to set in. That's when we go to the mirror and we look into it and remember that we are not superheroes and that we can not fix everything."

    Vince McMahon's character as an onscreen villain and corporate megalomaniac has been a defining act for decades. Lighting up the crowd was never an issue for him, as he did in this promo making sure everyone knew he was better than them.

  • (#32) Dean Ambrose's Promo on Seth Rollins

    In 2014, The Shield was on top of WWE and leading the charge into a new era for the company...until Seth Rollins took a chair to Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns' backs.

    Thus, The Shield was no more (until 2017), and the immediate fallout was a graphic description from Dean Ambrose detailing what his retaliation would be.

    Memorable quote: "When I get the opportunity to rearrange your face - which I will - your nose isn't going to be here anymore, it's going to be over here by your ear. I say ear because you're only going to have one left. I'm going to rip your dirty stinking hair out by the roots. I'm going to stuff it in your mouth.   • (#33) The Dudley Boyz' Heatwave Promo

    This promo is about as NSFW as it gets, but stands out as a masterful work of art from The Dudley Boyz in the way they eviscerated the crowd. This was heel promo 101.

    Memorable quote: "If we had the time, we would come out there and we would kick every one of your asses."

  • (#34) Cesaro's Post-Draft Promo

    WWE did a brand split draft in 2016 between Raw and SmackDown Live, and Cesaro managed to turn some heads with his post-draft thoughts.

    Not typically known for his microphone work, Cesaro let the world know how he felt about being slighted in the draft and being unsatisfied with his position in the company in a heartfelt backstage promo.

    Memorable quote: "We have Seth Rollins, we have New Day, we have Finn Bálor coming up from NXT – those are the people we should be here talking about. But we’re talking about Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley which is annoying to me."

  • (#35) Samoa Joe's Turning Point 2007 Promo

    TNA icon Samoa Joe fired from the hip in his 2007 shoot promo that eviscerated everyone in its path. He managed to obtain a live microphone at a pay-per-view and he made the most of it.

    Memorable quote: "Go ahead, fire me, I don't care. So tonight, I went in that locker room, and they said 'we called everybody in the world trying to get you a new partner,' and I said 'no, we don't need anybody else. We got everybody we need in the back right now.'"

    The New Day's meteoric rise in the tag team division to become one of the most successful factions of all time came out of nowhere.

    This promo exemplifies who New Day is as well as just about any other.

  • (#37) Roman Reigns's Yard Promo

    Sometimes, five words is all you need to cut one of the greatest promos of all time. Following his defeat and likely retirement of The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33, Roman Reigns opened Monday Night Raw in front of a raucous crowd that wouldn't let him get a word in.

    After minutes of endless booing, jeering and protesting, Reigns' finally soaked up all the heat like a magnet and got his one sentence in before dropping the mic and walking out.

    Memorable quote: "This is my yard now."

  • (#38) Paige's "Paigebomb" Promo

    Dubbed the "Paigebomb" by fans and marks alike, Paige ripped into Charlotte and Becky Lynch in this spirited promo. Paige demanded the credit for starting the women's revolution and called Charlotte out for her nepotism.

    It was a real moment that stood out as one of the better promos from the women's division in quite some time.

    Memorable quote: "Stop trying to act like you are somebody, because you wouldn't be here if it wasn't for your old man. Wooo!"

  • (#39) Stephanie McMahon's Wrestlemania 32 Promo

    Stephanie McMahon is a polarizing figure as the authority figure and daughter of Vince McMahon, and she was at her most domineering while announcing her husband, Triple H's, WrestleMania 32 entrance.

    Memorable quote: "You are merely the blind sheep who follow. You exist to serve us. We are the providers and the protectors. We are the leaders, the chiefs, and the generals. We are the absolute power. We own you!"
