  Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin first met in 2002 after Martin asked Paltrow to come backstage following a Coldplay concert in Los Angeles. Ironically enough, tabloid rumors that claimed that the couple were already dating encouraged them to meet in the first place. They began dating soon after that and Paltrow even took a break from her Hollywood life to follow Coldplay on tour. In December 2003, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child, and the pair secretly wed that same month in Santa Barbara, California. 

  After their wedding, Paltrow gave birth to daughter Apple in May 2004 and son Moses in April 2006. Although Paltrow hinted at marriage troubles in a later interview, she explained that Martin was an amazing father and she was proud to co-parent with him. Then, in 2014, after 11 years together, Paltrow and Martin released a statement on the Goop website explaining that the couple had decided to separate. They referred to their split as a "conscious uncoupling." Devoted parents, they had worked hard to stay together, only to determine that they were better off apart. 

  Since then, the couple has remained friendly, even going on double dates together with their new partners.

  After 23 years of marriage, the couple announced their separation in October 2013. They explained that they were happier living apart, but still acknowledged their 24th wedding anniversary in April 2014. However, Kris officially filed for divorce in September 2014 and their split was finalized in December of that year.

  Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony first met in 1998 while Anthony was performing on Broadway in The Capeman. After that initial meeting, however, both went on to date other people.   Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise first met in 2005 after Holmes admitted to a Seventeen magazine reporter that she always thought she was going to marry Cruise. At the time, Holmes was engaged to actor Chris Klein, but they ended their five-year relationship a few months later. After that, Holmes and Cruise made their first appearance as a couple in 2005 after stepping out together in Rome for Cruise's David di Donatello award. In May 2005, Cruise told Oprah that he was already in love with Holmes and that he didn't want to be cool about it. 

  In June 2005, Cruise and Holmes announced their engagement. However, they soon announced that Holmes was expecting the couple's first child. She gave birth to Suri in April 2006 and the pair tied the knot in Italy in November of that year. Over the next few years, the couple openly raved about each other in interviews, leading everyone to believe that they were incredibly happy together. In June 2012, however, Holmes announced that she was filing for divorce from Cruise.

During this time, Schwarzenegger pursued a film career before transitioning to politics in 2003. The couple enjoyed a fairly happy relationship over the course of their many years together, with nothing much to report about their romance in the way of rumors or drama. That is, until 2011. 

  That May, the couple announced their separation after 25 years of marriage amid rumors that Schwarzenegger fathered a child with the housekeeper. Although the couple initially claimed they were working on their relationship, Shriver officially filed for divorce in July.

While the stars vehemently denied problems in their romance, they announced another breakup in September 2013. 

  The stars stayed apart for a few years, each pursuing other relationships. Sometime in 2015, the couple reunited, though they didn't publicly confirm their relationship until May 2016. They announced that their engagement was back on that October. Things were relatively quiet for the next couple of years until Hemsworth and Cyrus shared photos of their wedding on social media in December 2018. It was an intimate and quiet ceremony in Nashville with only close friends and family.

  While most people thought the wedding meant Cyrus and Hemsworth were together for good, they announced in August 2019 that they were separating again after less than a year of marriage. Rumors, and Cyrus's music, indicate that Hemsworth's substance use may be at the root of their problems. While Cyrus has moved on quickly to other relationships, only time will tell if this latest split will be their last.
