About This Tool
The Republic of Madagascar is made up of the island of Madagascar and its adjacent islands in the south west Indian Ocean, across from the Mozambique Channel. The Malagasy people, the dominant ethnic group in Madagascar, are made up of a number of foreigners who have migrated to the island, mainly from the South Island ethnic group in Asia and the Bantu ethnic group from the African continent. The Malagasy population ranges from the asian-looking Indonesian to the black-looking African, and is more mixed.
