The Singapore population and Talent Agency released its latest population figures. As of December 2011, the total population of Singapore was 5.26 million, representing an increase of about 80,000 over the previous year. Of these, 3.27 million are Singapore citizens, 540,000 are permanent residents and 1.46 million are non-residents, 62% , 10% and 28% respectively. The majority of Singaporeans are ethnically divided: 2.42 m (74.1%) of Kazoku (Han) , 440,000(13.4%) of Ethnic Malays, 300,000(9.2%) of Indians, and 3.3% of the rest are Eurasian.
