The ethnic Chinese in Malaysia are mainly Chinese descendants who migrated from Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hainan during the Ming and Qing Dynasties to the Republic of China. Of Malaysia’s 31.7 million people, 6.64 million are ethnic Chinese.
