About This Tool

Emmet County (Michigan) is a County of the northern upper peninsula of the state of Michigan. It is bordered by Lake Michigan to the West and Straits of Mackinac to the east. Area 2,285 square kilometers. According to the 2000 U.S. census, there are 31,437 people. Petoskey, the county magistrate. Founded on April 1st in 1840, formerly known as 1843, which changed its name on March 8th, the county government was founded on January 29th in 1853. County in memory of the Irish Patriot Robert Emmet.
