About This Tool

The Photinus Species is a species of firefly. They are the Photinini tribe of Lampyridae. The male Photinus beetle sends out a flashing light pattern to signal the female. Illegal receivers, such as female fireflies, recognize these signals and use them to locate males, luring them with deceptive signals and eating them.

A total of 276 genera and species have been discovered and recorded in the generator. Including the specific names, discoverers and time of discovery of these genera and species, random tool is listed completely. Morphologically, they resemble predators like Photurinae, but with the arrival of fireflies, they are not at all closely related.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of Photinus species.
