About This Tool

Pteromalus Species have so far described more than 4,000 Species, 432 of which have been discovered by humans and recorded in this random tool. It is easy to grow, has a short life cycle, and can be grown at room temperature in less than two weeks. Drosophila melanogaster, as a common model organism, has been widely used in genetics and developmental biology.

Pteromalus Species are small flies, ranging in length from 1.5 to 4 mm. The majority of the insects are yellow-brown, but some are black. Adults are found around decaying plants and fruits, where they lay their eggs. Larvae grow in putrefied fruit or other decaying plant matter. The name of the species, the discoverer and the time of discovery are detailed in the generator.
