About This Tool

Named after the late president of the Philippines, Ramon Llull, the Ramón Magsay Prize was established in 1957 and is known as the Nobel Prize in Asia. The Magna Carta is usually awarded to an Asian or a person working in Asia who has selflessly contributed to a public cause. Five awards were originally awarded to individuals and institutions for outstanding contributions in the areas of government service, public service, community leaders, international understanding and the arts of Journalism, literature and creative communication.

In recent years, many outstanding Asian celebrities have won the award. This is recognition of their work and support in their area of expertise.
