About This Tool

Roman artists are non-Italian artists who are attracted by Roman art and cultural relics. The term was first coined in the early 16th century by Flemish artists who, after visiting Rome, used the techniques of the Italian Renaissance to influence their own art. The celebrated Romanist artists Jen Gossaert, Fras Floris de Vriendt and Bartholomaeus Spranger.
