About This Tool

Why is there more treasure at the bottom of the deep sea than people think? That’s because historically, every 29 hours, a ship has been lost at sea. According to an official count published by the French Navy, between 350 and 500 ships sink off the coast of France every year! Almost every shipwreck carried a treasure of some sort, not to mention the galleons and the great ships of the day, which carried gold, silver, and jewels, often of inestimable value.

Thousands of ships have sunk off the coast of France in this random tool, but a total of 123 have been salvaged and studied so far, and detailed information is stored in the generator, for those who are interested to take a closer look. The names, places, countries, times and main causes of the wrecks all make these areas of the sea a dangerous place to sail.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of shipwrecks of France.
