  China's new public enemy number one, pop star Selena Gomez was barred from performing or visiting the country after she posted a picture with the Dalai Lama. Her scheduled performances in Shanghai and Guangzhou for her Revival tour were subsequently cancelled. It appears as though Gomez's Instagrammable snapshot with the Dalai Lama was enough for China to take away any traveling plans the singer may have had.

  Brad Pitt was banned from ever entering China after he starred in the film Seven Years in Tibet, in a role which portrayed him as an ally of the Dalai Lama's. Years after his being barred, Pitt was welcomed back into Shanghai while accompanying his wife and children on a press tour for Angelina Jolie's film Maleficent. His visit in Shanghai was Pitt's first steps into China since the unspoken ban, and it appeared as though tensions between the country and the actor have subsided.

  Tiger-blood-infused goat's milk treatment advocate Charlie Sheen was ejected from New York City's Plaza Hotel after he trashed his suite. Naked and on more drugs than you can imagine, Sheen tore the place to shreds while his porn star friend hid in the bathroom. Police were called to handle the situation and Sheen was asked never to stay at the hotel again.

  Socialite and recreational cocaine user Paris Hilton found herself in hot waters at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas, as well. The heiress was caught with some white powder in her purse after being pulled over at the hotel. The Wynn banned Hilton from returning following the drug charges.

  Hilton has also been banned from entering Japan as a result of the Wynn Hotel incident. After flying all the way to Tokyo for a press tour, Hilton was denied entry by immigration officers for her criminal record. The personality was forced to turn her private jet around and go home.

  Alec Baldwin, never sure when to stop talking, dolled out some jokes about buying mail order brides while on appearing on David Letterman. Philippine officials weren't too happy with the derogatory comments and followed up with a swift immigration ban. Though his remarks were mildly tame in comparison to Baldwin's long history of offensive commentary, Philippine officials didn't hesitate to take the opportunity to block Baldwin from entering the country. Baldwin issued an apology, calling the statement a misguided joke. Unfortunately for him, it has become increasingly difficult to discern what is and is not a joke to Baldwin.

  Akon was banned from coming to Sri Lanka after his music video for "Sexy B*tch" with David Guetta displayed a Buddha statue in the background. Sri Lanka officials were offended that Akon's video featured the statue in a setting filled with inappropriate gyrating and bikini-clad women. Akoin was scheduled for a performance when protesters stormed the Maharaja television network and erupted in violence. Officials had no choice but to bar Akon's entry. Akon responded with an apology stating he understood the circumstances and why people were offended, although he had no clue the statue was even there.
