In La La Land, Seb (Ryan Gosling) wants to show Mia (Emma Stone) real jazz, so he takes her to the Lighthouse Cafe. While it is prominently featured in the film, it had a rich history even before the film was released.
After it first opened in 1940, the Lighthouse Cafe became a major West Coast jazz hotspot through the '40s and '50s. Located in Hermosa Beach, CA, the legendary Lighthouse Cafe still boasts a jam-packed live music calendar.

(#12) Kansas City Barbeque - ‘Top Gun’
Located in San Diego, Kansas City Barbeque is home to two different scenes from Top Gun. The first scene shot at the sports bar is when Goose (Anthony Edwards) and Maverick (Tom Cruise) play “Great Balls of Fire.”
The second scene is at the end of the film when Charlie (Kelly McGillis) surprises Maverick. The sports bar survived a fire in 2008 and still proudly celebrates its role in Top Gun by displaying stills from the film on the walls.

(#3) Shalom Grill - ‘The Avengers’
The restaurant is also known as the Shawarma Palace, and many fans likely remember the joke from The Avengers that gets called back in a post-credit scene at the end of the film. The scene was so memorable that shawarma restaurants saw a noticeable spike in sales following the release of the movie.
The real name of the shawarma place was Elat Burger during filming, but it has since been bought by Shalom Grill and is open for business in Los Angeles.

Los Angelenos likely already know Randy’s Donuts as a classic landmark building in Inglewood that they pass going to or from LAX airport. It’s pretty hard to miss, especially due to the 32-foot-tall doughnut that sits on the roof.
Originally built in 1953, Randy’s Donuts appears in Iron Man 2 when Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) hangs out inside the sign while eating a box of doughnuts.
