- March 29, 1994
Former f(x) member Sulli took her own life at 25 on October 14, 2019. Declared suicide by hanging, her death brought on petitions demanding stricter punishment for cyberbullying, which Sulli endured over the years. This led to the proposed "Sulli Act," which would enact a new law enforcing action against malicious comments.
After becoming an SM trainee while attending elementary school, Sulli also started acting when she was 11. With f(x), Sulli achieved mainstream success, but left the group in 2014 due to health reasons. In summer 2019, she debuted as a solo artist with the single "Goblin."

- April 16, 1992
28-year-old TST member Yohan passed away on June 16, 2020. His family has chosen not to reveal the cause of death.
Since making their debut in 2017, TST has released two EPs and several popular songs, like "Love Story" and "Paradise." Yohan also had a YouTube channel with fellow member Ain, where they posted vlogs, mukbangs, and dance videos.

(#9) Cha In-ha

SURPRISE U member Cha In-ha passed away on December 3, 2019 at 27. As of yet, no cause or details have been released, and his family has requested an autopsy not be conducted.
Best known as an actor, Cha's acting career was steadily rising, appearing in shows like, The Banker, Love with Flaws, and Clean with Passion for Now. In 2017, he and four other actors debuted as K-pop group SURPRISE U.

(#1) Kim Jonghyun
- April 8, 1990
On December 18, 2017, SHINee vocalist and solo artist Jonghyun passed away at age 27. Before taking his own life from carbon monoxide poisoning, Jonghyun texted his older sister with messages of "last goodbye" and "say I did well." A three-day public funeral was held the very next day, during which family and close friends also came together for a private service. Various media outlets have linked his tragic passing to depression.
Since being scouted by SM Entertainment when he was only 15, Jonghyun had an illustrious career as a member of SHINee and as a solo artist. His posthumous album, Poet | Artist, debuted at 177 on the US Billboard 200, and peaked at number 1 on several international charts.

(#8) Dongyoon
- June 3, 1998
SPECTRUM rapper Dongyoon passed away July 27, 2018 at 20 years old; the cause of death is still unknown.
Before debuting, Dongyoon appeared on the K-pop survival show MIXNINE where he finished 21st. Soon after, he made his debut with SPECTRUM. Their song "Dear My," which was also co-written by Dongyoon, is dedicated to the late member.

A month after her close friend Sulli passed away, KARA member Goo Hara took her own life on November 24, 2019 at age 28. The past year, she was in a legal battle with an ex-boyfriend, who has been sentenced to prison for abuse and threatening to upload a private video. In May 2019, Hara was taken to the hospital after a failed suicide attempt.
During her time with Kara, Goo Hara was very popular in both Korea and Japan. She also appeared on many reality shows and had a few acting roles. In 2016, Hara started her solo career, and in 2018, she made her debut as a soloist in Japan. The music video for "Hello" was released posthumously in January 2020, featuring lyrics thanking her supporters.
