About This Tool

The brightest stars in the sky were named many, many years ago and remain so today. Today’s astronomers still use Betelgeuse, Polaris, and the big dipper. However, this naming technique can not last forever because there are one million stars that are invisible to the naked eye, and it takes astronomers a lifetime to learn their names.

NGC stands for a new catalog of Nebulas, including 840-star clusters, Nebulae, and galaxies. The random tool generated 1000 items, recording the Nebula code for NGC1-1000. If you’re an astronomy enthusiast, you’ll want to know more about NGC number, Other names, Object type, Constellation, Right ascension, and more.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of NGC objects (1–1000).
