About This Tool

The new catalog of galaxies and star clusters (NGC) is one of the largest comprehensive catalogs because it includes all types of deep-sky objects, including galaxies, star clusters, emission nebulae, and Absorption Nebulae. Dreyer also published two additional catalogs of NGC in 1895 and 1908, called “indexed catalogs, ” which describe an additional 5,386 objects.

It is not easy to observe them in a single night. In addition to the viewer’s knowledge of the sky, the weather, geography, Sun and moon position are also important. So a marathon only takes place once a year, in late March, when the sun moves into the constellation of Aquarius, and there is no Messier object. The random tool generated 108 items, recording NGC’s star numbering from 4001 to 5000. The argot of astrologers, such as Apparent magnitude, extinction, Right ascension, is left for them to study.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of NGC objects (4001–5000).
