  Hanks wanted to create an app that hearkened back to the days of the manual typewriter. The Hanx Writer app has “bang bang clack-clack-clack puckapuckapuckapucka” sound effects. The goal is for the user to have the same experience as he feels when typing on a vintage typewriter. He seems to have a spot for old media, and that's a good thing.

  Everyone says Tom Hanks is a nice guy, but here's some more proof. When a couple met Hanks at the gas station near his Pacific Palisades home, they let him know that Larry Crowne "wasn’t that good." Hanks apologized and offered to refund them their $25. They took it.
