Academy Award-winning actress Geena Davis was almost an Olympic competitor in archery. At 41, she decided to try the sport, and it stuck. She studied and sharpened her aim to the point of being considered for the 2000 Olympic games in Sydney.
Though she qualified as a semifinalist at the Olympic Trials, Davis didn't make it to Australia. However, she looks back upon that period with good feelings. "It was the most out-of-body experience I’ve ever had," she said.
The actress, considered a master archer, still practices when she's not maintaining a busy acting schedule. Her skills were even highlighted in a Funny or Die video.

After playing Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider movie, Angelina Jolie developed a love for knife throwing. According to sources, she has become very talented and now owns quite an extensive collection of knives.
Jolie also possesses a private pilot's license, which she attributes to her oldest son. “When Maddox was 1½, we used to go to the airfield, have lunch, and watch the planes,” she said. “And it dawned on me: I could fly. So I promised him I would fly by his second birthday.”

Action star and former James Bond Pierce Brosnan is not known to shy away from physically demanding roles. It makes sense that, as a young actor, he was drawn to a striking performance art: eating fire.
In an interview with The Guardian, Brosnan explained how he stumbled upon this talent: "Yes, I did a fire-eating act. At the Oval House - this was in 1969 - there was a workshop and one night I came in to rehearse and I looked in and some guy was teaching people to fire-eat." Many decades later, Brosnan still boasts about this lesser-known ability.

Before he was a famous rock star, Jack White - one-half of the White Stripes - was an upholsterer in his hometown, Detroit, MI. He began as an apprentice under a man named Brian Muldoon. He eventually founded his own business, which he called Third Man Upholstery.
These days, White runs Third Man Records instead, but it turns out he has retained his upholstering skills. In 2016, he reupholstered a couch at the famous Sam Phillips Recording Studio in Memphis, TN.

When Christina Hendricks's Mad Men character, Joan Holloway, brings out an accordion and plays "C'est Magnifique" during a dinner party in Season 3, fans of the show were blown away by her rendition of the song.
Hendricks, an accomplished accordion player, fell in love with the instrument at a young age. "You can get so much out of it, like a one-man band," she said in an interview. "I also think it’s a very romantic instrument, and it channels all the things I love - French culture, Tom Waits - and all the things I try to make my house look like. It’s something I’ve always been interested in."

For the 2011 Oscars, Conan O'Brien showed off his tap dancing skills in a bit about the film The Artist. As a boy, Conan was inspired by big-screen actors, and he believed he needed to know how to dance to make it in Hollywood. As he shared in an interview, "I said I need to learn how to be a tap dancer and my parents were like, 'What are you talking about?'"
He continued, "And I said, 'I want to be in show business some day, and this kid's got to know how to tap his toes, you see?'"
Conan's supportive parents gave him what he asked for. "They went and they called all around and they found this guy, Stanley Brown, who had been the protégé of Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson. This is all completely true. And I went and he's this very older African American gentleman who was a great tap dancer."

If you want to see proof of Bob Dylan's welding skills, check out the metal gate framing the front of the MGM National Harbor resort near Washington, DC. Dylan was commissioned to design and build the piece, which is titled Portal.
While more famous for his musical career, it appears Dylan was born to weld. A Minnesota native, Dylan's hometown used to house one of the largest iron ore mines in the world. His projects and sculptures have been featured in museums and exhibits all over the world.

Supermodel and America's Got Talent host Heidi Klum has used the spotlight to spread a traditional singing style from her German homeland: yodeling.
While it's a talent she's taught to many of her colleagues and co-stars over the years, she doesn't necessarily believe it's her standout trait. When asked what skill she would audition on a show like America's Got Talent, she said, "People always ask me to yodel. I don’t think I would necessarily audition as a yodeler but we did have a yodeling granny this season and I gave her a run for her money."

The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson host learned the hard way about Bob Barker's secret talent when The Price is Right host karate chopped Ferguson's desk in half. Barker, now in his 90s, achieved a black belt in karate and even studied under Chuck Norris.
Apparently, Norris did not hold back, and Barker hypothesized the intensive training may have contributed to his health issues. "Maybe I should blame it on Chuck Norris," he said. "He probably kicked me in the neck. God knows he kicked me everywhere else."

Actor Leslie Mann confessed to talk show host Lorraine that she's been riding unicycles since she was 11. The wife of director Judd Apatow and mother of two still owns a unicycle and practices on it.
"I have a unicycle at home, and I can just get up and do it," she told Lorraine. "I bought it when I was 11 years old, and I would unicycle for miles, and I thought that I should have been bicycling, but with [a] unicycle you have to go the entire time, and I just loved it."
